Today's featured blog: Fruits and Votes!

Seems appropriate. And the author once contacted me because of eerie similarities in our blogs (not subject matter so much but terms we chose, etc.) and I have linked to it for a while now. It's a great site and has some helpful and sane info for those wringing their hands today, on this most significant occasion of electing our next leader.

Don't fuck it up, people. Go vote. Vote your conscience, vote strategically, vote out of spite, but VOTE. It's your duty.

Thanks for the link. And I love that banner photo! (The moon phase widget is cool, too!)

By the way, in tune with your "favorite apples" list, shortly after the elections (US and NZ) are over, I am going to post something on new favorites.

We had our best crop yet, including many varieties that had not fruited before. (We had more chill than ever, though I am hoping it was less the rare chill that made the difference than the maturing of the trees.)

Bravo on your apple crop; well done! The orchard we favor here had an amazing bumper crop this year. It was indeed colder than usual all over; the foliage this year was long-lived and glorious, which I hoe made up for lost revenue in areas dependent upon "leaf-peeper" tourism....
